About

Dr. Donah Zachariah embarked on her medical journey at Trivandrum Medical College, Kerala, India, graduating with an MBBS in 2002.

Transitioning to the United Kingdom, she pursued her cardiology specialist training through Wessex Deanery, obtaining her Certificate of Completion of Training in 2016. Dr. Zachariah honed her Electrophysiology and Devices expertise with post-CCT fellowships at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and Bristol Heart Institute. She earned the IBHRE Electrophysiology Physicians Accreditation and Heart Rhythm UK Accreditation in Devices. In 2018, she was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine (DM) by the University of Southampton for her research thesis titled ‘The cardio renal continuum, a focus on iron deficiency, arrhythmia burden and treatment.’ Joining University Hospital of North Midlands, Stoke-on-Trent as a Consultant Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist, she expanded the EP service and supervised Cardiology specialist registrar trainees. Dr. Zachariah’s transformative journey continued with a sabbatical in 2021, completing a Masters program in Complex Ventricular Arrhythmias at the University of San Raffaele, Milan, Italy, under Prof Paolo Della Bella’s guidance. Now at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, she concentrates on advancing the ventricular arrhythmia service in a specialized transplant unit.

Dr Zachariah is a Member of the Medical Advisory Committee at Cambridge Heart Clinic

Alongside her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Zachariah remains dedicated to research and education, contributing significantly to publications in electrophysiology and cardiovascular medicine. She holds fellowships with the Royal College of Physicians and the European Society of Cardiology.
