Dr Mark Belham
MD FRCP
Dr Mark Belham is a Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. He has special expertise in the area of cardiac imaging and is clinical lead for Echocardiography at Addenbrooke's hospital. He also manages all forms of heart disease and has many years of experience in coronary angiography (including radial work) and pacemaker implantation.

Dr Michael O'Sullivan
MA MB BChir PhD MRCP
Dr Michael O'Sullivan is a Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. Following undergraduate training at Cambridge University, Dr O'Sullivan undertook postgraduate medical training at Royal Brompton National Heart & Lung Hospital and the Oxford University Teaching Hospitals. He returned to Cambridge in 1996 and over the next seven years trained in all aspects of cardiology, with particular emphasis on interventional cardiology, at Papworth and Addenbrooke's Hospitals. During this period he was awarded a PhD, and the British Cardiac Society Young Research Worker's Prize, for research into mechanisms of coronary stent failure. From 2003-2004, he worked in the Department of Interventional Cardiology at University of British Columbia, Vancouver and gained extensive experience in advanced interventional techniques and new strategies for the treatment of coronary disease. Following his return he was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrooke's and Papworth Hospitals. In this position he provides secondary and tertiary centre care to patients with general cardiac problems (valve disease, heart failure, heart rhythm problems), in addition to those with coronary disease.
He became Director of the Addenbrooke's Cardiology Department in 2006, and is Clinical Director of the Cambridge Heart Clinic.

Dr Peter Pugh
MBBS MD MRCP FESC
Dr Peter Pugh is a Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
Following undergraduate training at Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, London, Dr Pugh trained in cardiology at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. He undertook research into heart failure at the University of Sheffield, and a Cardiovascular Fellowship at the University of Cape Town. He was awarded a Travelling Fellowship by the European Heart Rhythm Association, to study complex pacing. His main areas of expertise are in biventricular pacing and device therapy for heart failure and arrhythmia, in which he has extensive experience. He was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital in 2008, specifically to take forward the pacemaker and devices service.

Dr Peter Schofield
MBChB (Hons) FRCP MD FACC FESC
Dr Schofield is a Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrookes & Papworth Hospitals, Cambridge.
He was appointed a Consultant Cardiologist in 1989. He is currently the Clinical Chairman of the Anglia Cardiac Network. This group is responsible for the strategic direction and provision of cardiac services within Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Dr Schofield holds a clinical excellence award (national) - currently level 10.
He was the Secretary of the British Cardiac Society for a period of 4 years and has been a Council Member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society.

Dr Sarah Clarke
MA MD FRCP FESC FACC
Dr Clarke is a Consultant Cardiologist and the Clinical Director of Cardiac Services at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge. She is an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge.
Dr Clarke studied Medical Sciences at the University of Cambridge, UK where she also gained her research degree. She was awarded a Fellowship in interventional cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA in 2001 and was appointed to her Consultant post at Papworth in 2002. She became Clinical Director for Cardiac Services in 2006.
Dr Clarke is the Vice President of Education and Research at the British Cardiovascular Society. She delivers the Annual Congress and leads on education and research initiatives for trainees and trained cardiologists. She is Chair of the Cardiology section of the Medical Futures Awards, the worlds most prestigious fora and catalyst for innovation in healthcare and lifesciences. Dr Clarke is a Fellow of the European and American Colleges of Cardiology.

Our Consultant Electrophysiologists
Dr Andrew Grace
MB BS PhD FRCP FACC
Dr Andrew Grace is a Consultant Cardiologist at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge. Dr Grace has developed one of the largest clinical practices in cardiac arrhythmia management in the United Kingdom and specialises in catheter ablation techniques particularly for atrial fibrillation. He trained in medicine at St Thomas’ Hospital in London completing his Ph.D. in Cambridge and post-doctoral studies as a Fulbright Scholar in the University of California. He was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Papworth and Addenbrooke’s Hospitals in 1996. He has a track record of publishing high quality research and runs a large, productive research group in the University of Cambridge. His work is widely known and respected and he is regularly invited to participate in initiatives both nationally and internationally. He holds a number of offices, is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Xi'an Jiaotong University, the Royal Air Force Civil Consultant in Cardiac Electrophysiology and a Member of the Government’s Expert Advisory Group on Human Medicines. He lives in central Cambridge with his wife and four children.

Dr Simon Fynn
MA MB BChir MD FRCP
Dr Simon Fynn is a Consultant Cardiologist at Papworth Hospital. He specialises in the investigation and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and undertakes radiofrequency catheter ablation and cardiac device implantation. He has a particular interest in atrial fibrillation, receiving an MD from the University of Cambridge for research in this field. Prior to his appointment at Papworth, he spent 2 years at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, one of the world’s leading centres in cardiac electrophysiology. He has published numerous papers on the mechanisms and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
